FAQs- Dust Test Chamber

Is the dust used for testing ordinary household dust?

No. Standard talcum powder is typically used because its particle size is controllable, it flows well, and it does not clump easily, ensuring the accuracy of the test results.

What is the difference between IP5X and IP6X?

IP5X allows a small amount of dust to enter, provided it does not affect the device's normal operation; IP6X requires complete dust protection, meaning no visible dust is allowed inside after the test.

Why is a vacuum drawn inside the chamber during testing?

A vacuum is drawn to create negative pressure inside the device, simulating real-world conditions where external dust is "sucked" into the casing as the device heats up during operation or when its fans are running.
